FAQ
✍️ Registration
- Full board is NOT included in the ticket price (see “ Food”).
- Due to the short time frame, cancellation is unfortunately not possible.
- Tickets can be sold among each other via this "Ticket Exchange"-Pad: https://pad.riseup.net/p/2Txkg4BoI_9x_9OJQoqC
- Children up to 14 years have free admission, but still need a ticket (see “Children's ticket”).
- Young people aged 14 and over, like all older people, need a normal ticket. Feel free to choose the “Reduced Ticket”, as your pocket money is probably less than that of most adults.
- If you use Telegram, please join this channel here. During the convention we will send information about it: https://t.me/winterconleipzig
🕑 Times
- admission is from Thursday, 3 pm
- start program Thursday 4 pm
- You can play until late into the night. At some point only the last person responsible for the keys will want to go to bed :)
- Clean up / setting down starts Sunday, 5 pm
🛏️ Sleeping
- This year we can also offer sleeping places - in limited amout, though. 🥳😴
- We will be able to rent classrooms where you can sleep on the floor.
- As the rent for the classrooms is relatively high, we need an average of 25€ per sleeping place for the whole weekend to finance this.
- Please bring your sleeping bag, sleeping mat and whatever you need to sleep well.
- If you have any needs / questions to feel comfortable there, please contact us: info@wintercon-leipzig.de
- If there are no more tickets available, the sleeping place exchange board can help you find a place in Leipzig with other participants: https://pad.riseup.net/p/D5q3shO2XXc9xzbB0SHA
❤️ Helping out
- The convention is from the community for the community. No one earns money from it. To make this possible, we need support from volunteers.
- In order to cover all tasks, there will be a shift plan on site. It will only work with your help! 🙂
- We are still looking for support in advance - especially in the following areas. Please get in touch if you would like to help: info@wintercon-leipzig.de
- Kids Space
- Awareness
- First-aid staff
☕ Food
- The wonderful Küfa collective “Mampfansage” will provide full board as well as water, tea and coffee on site. However, this is NOT included in the ticket price.
- You can decide for yourself at any time to what extent you would like to use this offer. For planning purposes, however, it would be very helpful if you specify at the registration which meals you will probably be attending.
- There will be a donation box on site with an overview of the expenses of our kitchen crew. As a rough guide: ~10€ per day and head would be cool!
- The food will be vegan. If you have allergies / intolerances, please mention this in the registration form or communicate directly with the kitchen on site.
- Very brief excursus: Küfa stands for "Küche für Alle" (“kitchen for all”) and describes collectives that provide people in social struggles with food. For example, as a “neighborhood kitchen” regularly in cities, formerly at anti-nuclear protests, at climate camps, at occupations, at camps at the EU's outer borders for people on the run or in other political places. True to the motto “no fight without food”!
🚗 Parking
- The parking lots in front of the school are not allowed to be used! Unfortunately, the parking lots on the street around the school may not be used! We kindly ask you to use the following large free parking lot, which is only 350m or 5 min walking distance from the school Please note: Enter via "Brünner Straße" -> https://www.openstreetmap.org/directions?from=&to=51.321255%2C12.302577#map=19/51.321304/12.302076
- For those with a lot of luggage, we offer a handcart at the registration: Park in front of the school to unload, store your luggage via handcart in the school and then park the car in the recommended parking lot. :)
- The school has explicitly pointed out to us that there is already a lot of frustration from local residents regarding the parking situation. If there are complaints about our event, it could potentially jeopardize our convention. This is the only location in Leipzig where we can realize the convention in this form - we are dependent on it. Exceptions apply for people with limited mobility.
🫶🏽 Convention consensus
🛝 Children
- There will be an area where children can play. This will be equipped with play facilities by the team. Private additions are welcome!
- This area serves as a gathering point for children and their caregivers. Supervision by the convention organizers is not planned**. If you can imagine supporting us with the Kidsspace, please get in touch: info@wintercon-leipzig.de
♿ Barriers
- Accessibility needs of people are very individual - please indicate your personal accessibility needs when purchasing tickets or contact us in advance: info@wintercon-leipzig.de
- The hall is accessible without steps from the street and from the Leipzig Grünauer Alle stop.
- We will set up a rest room.
- There will be no flash light or similar.
📷 Photos & videos
We want everyone to be able to decide for themselves to what extent their face is photographed and distributed.
🔥 Fire
- Due to different reasons, we will not be able to offer a Firespace.
🗓️ Workshops / Program
- There will be slots and spaces for workshops - **since it's a community con, we need you as workshop leaders!
Whether you are an experienced workshop leader or want to take on this exciting role for the first time, we are looking for passionate people who want to share their skills and knowledge. We especially want to motivate new workshop leaders to give it a try.
- More than circus: You are welcome to offer workshops or skillshares on other topics. What is important: stick to our self-understanding
- There will be a board for workshops on site. There you can announce your workshop (also spontaneously).
🐕 Animals
- Although we love animals of all kinds, we ask you not to bring them to the convention due to the local conditions.
Exclusion of liability
When participating in this event, the organizers, their representatives and vicarious agents are excluded from liability for damages of any kind, unless they are based on a grossly negligent or intentional breach of duty by the organizers, their representatives or vicarious agents.
